Snail Mail
The lock on my post box has jammed, even WD 40 would not shift it. Neither the nice lady from La Poste or I couldn’t open it. Meanwhile snails were feasting.
Rain

Gaillac sortie
Today, while working on the Titanic / Plymouth painting, in contrast, I am thinking of Gaillac [and Toulouse] beginning to plan for a late November sortie to Bordeaux and Gaillac wine regions, an adventure to be rich with surprises !

To my widely dispersed Jewish friends and family, yehi ratzon she-t’hadesh alenu shanah tovah um’tukak [may the final seal be for the good]. Rosh Hashanah, 5780, The Days of Awe, the Jewish New Year, a most serious period in Jewish lives, started this evening.
Scilly
The Scilly Isles, a good friend has just holidayed there returning full of energy and enthusiasm for these beautiful, rugged isles.
I’ve only been there once, astern in 1988.

A friend at Radio Cornwall, Tamsin Mitchell, asked be to be there to cover the arrival of Richard Branson with his Virgin Atlantic Challenger II.

Another hat
I’ sometimes find myself acting Acting Tourist Guide for friends when they visit here, another unofficial hat.

Actually my dear friend from Toulouse, Lily Malek has visited Roche-Bernard before.
