The Scilly Isles, a good friend has just holidayed there returning full of energy and enthusiasm for these beautiful, rugged isles.
I’ve only been there once, astern in 1988.

Saint Malo plage morning and after, a fine lunch at the restaurant and bar of Théhillac. I can unreservedly recommend “Les Re 7 d’Antan” at Théhillac. Forest fires?

Contrasting Castles
A tale of two contrasting castles, part of my last months adventures, to share with you.
I visited the [ruined] castle at Tonbridge in central Kent, at one time said to be one of the strongest in England.
By contrast, Scotney Castle was built as a picturesque folly.

The 25 th of May birthday ? went so well ???, a memorable occasion for all the best reasons, hence the photos below some of you kindly requested.

We certainly did raise a glass to ‘Absent Friends’.
Cake candles were duly blown out, champagne and balloons pop’d.
