Mayragues, Château
This in part to buy some of their fabulous wine.
Mayragues is documented to have been wine making since at least 1609.
Expect something special !

Some of the vines are direct descendants and we know from pottery remains, Romans were active in the area.
I’m under orders from my mate in ‘our’ village, Théhillac, to make a merry (English) Christmas lunch and a happy new year dinner.
My table seats 8, more if I improvise so who would like to be there ?

The castle of Mayragues , a former fortified house , was founded in the 12th century . The architecture with a corbelled rampart is one of the rare examples of regional fortified architecture .

The castle is classified as a historical monument.

Mayragues stands out for its unique silhouette.
