Walk around a bastide

Happy return, well worth a visit,  I recommend you discover the picturesque Castelnau de Montmiral, a remote 13 th century bastide in South West France.

A 13 th century bastide,  Castelnau de Montmiral was built to defend l’Occitane from the “Northern Barbarians”, in other words, the French, Plantagenets, Gascoyne and English, by order of  count Raymond VII of Toulouse.

Maybe I am biased here?

I lived in and around Castelnau de Montmiral for 9 years, a good experience in the seductive Tarn department, South West France.

Autumn is early this year at Castelnau de Montmiral

I have an idea for a new painting, more on that later,  so I took a good look at this village, so familiar to me.
