Trafalgar News

Trafalgar news on this Monday, 4th November and a NEW and original painting nearing completion, with for its subject news of one of the major events of the century arriving off Pendennis Castle’, Falmouth, bound for London, Admiralty House and the King.

This NEW painting measuring 48 x 62 cm (19″ x 24″) will soon be available and added to the Nelson & Trafalgar series on my ‘maritime’ web site.

About this painting:
On this day 4th November, carrying momentous news, Lieutenant John Lapenotiere, due to his schooner’s slow sailing in light airs, disembarked from his command, H M Schooner Pickle, off Pendennis castle, Falmouth.
He then took his despatch racing by express post chase to be first with the news to London, the Admiralty, the King and for a well earned reward.

Behind the painting is a grand story, high drama and a race by land and sea.
