Cornish scones.

Cornish scones not quite right, not quite a “proper job”, they didn’t rise well.

I also invested 6 hrs painting yesterday and today on various tasks including varnishing some new paintings which was more successful.
Maybe I should keep to painting?
The Cornish scones being inspired by the great good fortune of some real Rhodda Cornish Clotted Cream coming my way 🙏😃.
So, with two mates, as you do, we decided to take Cornish ‘Afternoon Tea’ together.
Cornish scones, Cornwall meets France?
This is as you may be aware, a ritual with roots deep in English social history.
English afternoon tea is something few of my French friends understand, the poor souls.
To arrive with wine and ‘chocie bixs’ while generous would have been scandalous 😵‍💫in my grandmother’s day.😲
Hey, I’m in France so I go with the flow ! 😄
Scones of course are an essential cultural element in some regions, certainly vital in the wild west of Cornwall.
There is as you may be aware, a heated debate about whether to put the strawberry jam on before the cream or vice versa. 🥹😭😳🤭.
Cornish etiquette according to Rhodda, recommends for a ‘proper job’, jam first the cream; so that settles that😊.
Or does it…🤔🫣⚓?
