Orange.fr, is it only me who feels every time I give business to Orange I get ripped off?
Granted, buying a new phone (mobile, cell, portable) in France is quite a challenge, more so if your French is limited; however I’d taken some precautions and made notes before the event.

Not good news, is I thought I’d bought a 2018 model that was on display in the shop, nope when I checked at home, it’s a 2017 which is not the same as a 2018.IMG_3772
Then there is the small matter of the price on display was not for a working phone.

By the time one had bought memory card, sim  and anything the salesman could add on the price paid was up 50 % and on its way to doubling… Not very honest of Orange to suggest 129 was the price of a working phone. …

As for the calls. free to any phone in the EU except 08 and a few other numbers, fairynuff. Free to cell phones in the USA and Canada, free to phones in GB; now here is the rub, not free to call GB from the E U or to call my phone from GB.

There are times Brexit seems a good idea…

I was told I’d have 5 Euros per month off the charge for the first year because I’d changed provider. Great you think? Not so, it turns out I must go onto the website to demand the discount.
Last time I had an Orange deal like that I never did get the discount…
There is more but you get the picture?

The good news, I have a new mobile phone, same number, which after much research I hope will be more reliable, more useful even though it is considerably more expensive than my
‘old’ SFR Mobile.
Acid test: Would I recommend Orange .fr?
No I’d advise extreme caution dealing with this company.
