Here is a painting that has been struggling to come to life until today when after much though and few ideas, quite suddenly it allowed me to ‘power in’.
For those of you quick with maths and who like to work out the relationship between what you see here on your screen and the original painting the canvas on board size is an unusual 503 x 915 cms (21″ x 36″)
I have in mind to keep this loose, detail minimal.
I hope it will become an early evening scene of the town of Blaye, Haut Medoc, in the “Picturesque Wine Villages of Bordeaux” series. (see https://artfrickers.com/sample-page/ .
Blaye is one of the less visited destinations in the Bordeaux region just as the delicious wines of Haut Medoc are often overlooked.
However Blaye, like the wines of Haut Medoc will royally repay your attention.
The town is congenial, there is a ferry across the Gironde estuary to the Medoc, well worth the ride even if you don’t really want to go and be charmed by the Medoc and la Citadelle which today includes a hotel over looking the Gironde and reasonable restaurants is a place to invest a few hours, quite quite exceptional; enjoy
