Four (rather special) green bottles standing in a row; and roast lamb for a merry supper with 3 local friends.

I was a bit dubious about the Chateau Clos de Madeleine as it’s rather old.
I bought several years ago from the chateau owners which at the time I was painting as one of the 24 paintings in my Famous Wine Villages of Bordeaux.
It smelt and looked drinkable to we tried it. The vote was “outstanding”.
That is certainly a memorable wine, excellent and lived up to the reputation of grand cru and Saint Emilion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A few of the finest wines keep for years, this Chateau Clos de Madeleine is one of them.
We roll into ‘mad’ March, February’s out, in style here.
“Four green bottles standing in a row and if one green bottle should accidently fall …”

Also outstanding and deliciously slightly different was the ‘Chateau Mayragues 1609’, (2019 vintage).

made by a family I used to know quite well near Gaillac.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The roast lamb was despite my careful preparation and in good time, an embarrassment. 😳

It took twice as long to cook than is usual. Something wrong with me quite new Proline oven? 🤢
Another problem I don’t want that will waste my valuable time.
Never mind, we drank, nibbled ‘starters’ and talked as good friends do, with much laughter.
Perhaps next time you’ll be here? I do like having visitors, vive les visiteurs ! 😀⚓
