Landscape painting plien aire
Painting landscape on location, cattle feed, sunflowers, forest, in Vallee of the Vere.
Then creating a larger version in my studio as an experiment to see how a ‘plien aire’ study might transform when produced as a larger picture.
The location is the valley of the river Vere a few kilometres North of Castelnau de Montmiral.
The golden effect seen here was achieved in part by mixing Winsor & Newton ‘artist quality’ gold paint with the sienna colours.
