The well is near the Old City of Beersheba and a wadi, Nahal Be’er Sheva, on the road to Neve Noy.
I am following in his footsteps as Abraham’s Well is described by the Scot Edward Robinson when he toured and produced a series of magnificent paintings recording life and the near desolate landscape of Israel in 1838.
In 1897 a local sheikh built a house above the well.
