This painting has special qualities that one can be sense but not be fully experienced except by seeing this original painting.
The village is seemingly basking under a huge bright sky as it does on many a long summer’s day.
Pomerol painting is an artist’s considerable challenge as at first glance the village is not particularly picturesque.
I resolved this by making a full tour of the district and by using some unusual colours including exploiting the special qualities of Winsor and Newton’s irredentist white to the warm and add depth to sky.
This is an exclusive innovation of mine which also helps the incredible sense of depth in this landscape.
