Chateau de Saurs painting
This painting, widely considered a master work, of the most elegant chateau in the Gaillac Region with its colours, light and forms was painted mostly on location.
Dimensions, 76 x 121 cm (30″ x 48″), to have this painting in any home, office, restaurant or hotel this splendid painting would be like adding another window, another light source, letting in some of the warm light of a summer day in the Tarn province of ‘la belle France’.
Château de Saurs is the home of a family who you can see here relaxing on their terrace and who have been wine making records show, since at least the 14 th century.
The landscape basks in a benign micro-climate unique to the Gaillac region in the heart of L’Occitane.
A region long aeons famous for wines chosen by among others, founding fathers of the United States and the kings of France and England.
For the opportunity to create this artwork, my thanks go to the kind hospitality of the owner M. Yves Burrus.
He very willingly enabled me to visit the Château de Saurs location on a number of occasions.
In appreciation, I have included a family scene complete with his much loved dogs on the terrace and wild life in the garden.
